I use Ubuntu because of its strength and not because I hate Windows. So I have no problem to use Windows-ish theme on my desktop theme now and then.
For some people this is an act of blasphemy. For me, it's a freedom of choice. Linux is about freedom, right?
So you need XP, Vista or Seven theme on your Ubuntu? You have to install Emerald Theme Manager first, and then use the import option.
Vista Theme

Miss the old XP? Here's XP Theme :

Unfortunately XP theme doesn't come in .emerald file so you can't import it from Emerald Theme Manager. You have to extract the zip file, WindowsXPsilver folder, manually to /home/yourusername/.emerald/themes/ and then run Emerald Theme Manager.
Migrating to a new OS can be scary at first. Installing familiar themes can reduce the stress and smoothen the transition period.
keyword : xp, vista, seven, themes, ubuntu, emerald

I downloaded the Emerald Theme Manager, and the theme, and then I imported the theme into Emerald Theme Manager.
What is the next step to actually use the theme?
sorry it took me so long to reply,
you have to choose emerald as your window decorator.
install fusion-icon via synaptic and run it, you'll have blue icon in system tray. right click and on "window decorator" menu, choose emerald.
